How to Maintain and Fix a Universal Joint with an Injected Ring on 2007 Dodge Ram 1500?

Start by placing the shaft yoke into a vise before you start servicing or repairing the universal joint with an injected ring. Sit the U-joint press flat-side toward the shaft and yoke and press the bearing caps out of the yoke. After removing the lower bearing cap from the shaft yoke, turn the shaft over and put the press with the receiver against the shaft yoke to press out the other U-joint bearing cap. With the flange and U-joint taken off the shaft yoke, use the U-joint press and line the receiver with the flange, then press the U-joint out of the flange to loosen the bearing caps. Remove the bearing cap from the outside of the flange, slip the U-joint press back onto the flange with the receiver and push the remaining U-joint bearing cap out of the flange before removing the whole U-joint.
