How to Maintain and Fix a Universal Joint with Snap Rings on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500?

Before doing anything else, add EP N.L.G.I. Grade 1 or 2 grease to the bores inside the yoke in the universal joint. Put the cross (1) into the yoke (2) and direct the lube fitting upwards, if your ropes have them. Move the bearing cap (1) over the cross at (2) so it lines up with the yoke bore and press it in a bit to clear the snap ring groove. We need to repeat these steps to install the opposite bearing cap as well. If moving the yoke or sleigh feels tough, whack the yoke with a block of wood to get the bearings to sit in the places they belong. After that, grease the lube fitting (if it's present) and place the propeller shaft in place.
