Start by linking the instrument panel wire harness to the cigar lighter or cigarette lighter receptacle base connector to install the auxiliary power outlet. After that, attach the cigar lighter or cigarette lighter mount inside the instrument panel so the splines on the bottom of the receptacle base connector line up with the grooves in the mount. Apply pressure to the base of the receptacle until the retaining bosses are fitted into their receptacles. Manufacturers recommend you install the cigar lighter's knob and matching element into the circular opening or install the protective cap into the rectangular opening. Last, link the negative cable from the battery to the chassis terminal.
