2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair a Fuel Rail on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: Be sure there are no sparks, open flames or smoke when servicing or repairing the left fuel rail, avoid any situation where fuel could be inhaled or touched and use protective clothing. Check the sealing cones at the lines and change them when needed so that the fuel pressure lines are properly placed. Correctly place the fuel rail and hand tighten all lines that are under high pressure. Place and fasten the fuel rail bolts and tighten them to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Tighter the high-pressure line to the fuel rail by 33 N-m (24 ft. lbs.), the high-pressure fuel rail transfer pipe by 27 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) and the high-pressure fuel lines at both the fuel rail and fuel injectors by 27 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). Move the main engine wiring harness, secure it with fasteners and tighten every fastener to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Unite the fuel supply and return pipe assembly, hook up the fuel hoses to the high-pressure pump, the fuel filter and fuel rail and tighten using Fuel Line Pliers 9539. Connect the fuel rail pressure solenoid, place the charge cooler inlet air pipe in position and clamp the negative cable back onto the battery. Turn the engine on, let it warm, shut it off and check for leaks. In the end, install the strut tower support and cover the engine.
