2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500 Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Service and Repair the Right Fuel Rail on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 3500?
A: Before you start service or repair on the right fuel rail, see to it there are no sparks, open flames or smoke present, as inhaling or swallowing fuel can poison you and contact with fuel may injure you; always put on protective clothing first. Make sure all the sealing cones at the lines are secure and change them if needed, ensuring all fuel pressure lines are set properly. Tighten the main fuel line by hand to a firm position and then place the fuel rail on the engine. After installing the fasteners, tighten them to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.) and the line to the fuel rail to 33 Nm (24 ft. lbs.). After that, secure the high-pressure fuel rail transfer pipe with 27 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) of force, then tighten the high-pressure fuel lines from the fuel rail and each injector up to 27 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). Link up the fuel rail pressure sensor and the negative cable from the battery. Drive the car to let the engine warm up, shut off the engine, check outside for leaks and if nothing is found, go ahead and drive the car again. After all, put the strut tower support in and attach the engine cover.
