- Q: How to Properly Service and Repair a Halogen Headlight Bulb on 2007 Dodge Sprinter 3500?A: Replacing a halogen headlamp bulb with the proper size and type can prevent the lamp, the socket or the wiring from being damaged or getting too hot. Don't touch or expose the bulb glass to oily surfaces so you can make it last longer. First, fit the headlamp bulb base inside the keyed hole on the back of the front lamp unit's reflector. Place the bulb into the reflector until its base fits tightly and make sure the lugs on the bulb fit snugly into the reflector's recesses. Lift the clip on the wire bulb retainer, point it over the bulb base and press to secure it. Connect the front light unit pair of wires again to the bulb. Line up the slotted brackets at the rear of the lamp housing with the two tabs on the front lamp unit's rear cover. Open the swing the rear cover upward and pull up on both latches to hear them lock in place with a click. Make sure to connect the battery negative terminal next.
