2007 Jeep Patriot Battery Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Battery Cables on 2007 Jeep Patriot?
A: It's important to first take off the negative battery cable and make it safe to service the cables. After that, turn the two clips so they are not blocking and remove the air cleaner fresh air duct. Due to different polarity of battery cables for gasoline and diesel engines, you should always pay attention to the location of the positive and negative cables before carrying out battery servicing. Afterward, take out the nut binding the TIPM cable to the battery clamp stud and disconnect the negative battery cable before the positive one. Undo the nut that carries the negative cable to the body ground stud and next detach the battery cable from the B+ terminal of the generator and the starter motor. Following the battery cable retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips, remove them one at a time, then take the battery cables from the engine compartment.
