In order to service battery cables, you must disconnect the negative cable first. Remove the air cleaner duct, remembering that there are differences in cable polarity for gasoline and diesel cars. Disconnect the positive cable, remove the negative cable attached to the body ground, and eliminate all the retaining clips until it's free of the vehicle.
