When you install a new exhaust manifold, do so by setting the new gasket down without applying sealer. After that, tighten the exhaust manifold bolts to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.), followed by attaching the heat shield. The bolts for the heat shield should be fastened to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). After that, install bracket (2) for the exhaust manifold and a new seal for the catalytic converter. Lock in the exhaust pipe to the manifold (1) while making sure the fasteners are tightened to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). Link the electrical end of the oxygen sensor to the corresponding connector (3), then secure the negative cable to the battery (3) and attach the engine cover last.
