How to Service and Repair a Piston on 2007 Jeep Patriot?

To service the connecting rod, remove the engine, cylinder head, oil pan and filter. Clean the cylinder and use a ridge reamer and mark each of the connecting rod caps. Remove the bolts and cap on the connecting rod, making sure not to reuse them. Push out each piston and rod assembly carefully, and reinstall the bearing cap.
