How to Maintain Your Gas Thermostat Efficiently on 2007 Jeep Patriot?

To service the gas primary thermostat you must first partially drain the cooling system. Then, remove the air filter housing, and disconnect coolant hose 1 from inlet housing 2. After this, remove the inlet housing bolts 3 and remove the thermostat assembly, cleaning the sealing surfaces afterwards.
