How to Service the Cigarette Lighter Power Outlet on 2008 Chrysler 300?

To service the auxiliary cigarette lighter, disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the lighter knob and examine the base of the receptacle. Use snap ring pliers to disengage the retaining bosses then pull the receptacle base out. Finally, disconnect the wire harness prior to removing the component.
