  A: Start by removing the wheel and tire from the front lower ball joint before going further. After that, remove the brake caliper and rotor. Pull the tie rod off the steering knuckle using puller number kit 8677. After that, connect puller 8677 to the steering knuckle and turn until the ball joint breaks loose. Once that's finished, pull the steering knuckle and, with 4X4 models, move the half shaft to the side and support it as you work. Clear the areas around the ball joint stakes, using plenty of extra lubricant around the threads to increase how long the spacer will last and ensure it works correctly during use. Use tools C-4212-F (PRESS), 9333-1 (Driver) and 9333-2 (Receiver) to press the ball joint from the lower control arm.
