2008 Chrysler Crossfire Axle Beam Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Detach an Axle Beam on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before removing the axle beam, raise and support the car and then remove the wheel and tire assembly. Remove the rear support brackets from convertible models by first undoing the bolts and then taking off the brackets. Then, loosen the left and right back disc brake caliper bolts and uninstall the calipers, making sure you are supporting their weight with your hands rather than putting it on the brake hose. Using wire or cord, suspend the calipers from the rear strut assembly. Get rid of the back end of the exhaust pipes which comprises the muffler and detach the parking brake cables from the parking brake cable equalizer. After removing the right and left Wheel Speed Sensors, also take out the nuts on the left and right rear axle halfshafts and their halfshafts. Once you're done with the front, take off the rear springs and rear shock absorbers, being sure not to detach the lines leading to the fuel pump. Take out the mounting bolts and hang the fuel pump from the rear suspension assembly. Dimboldai remove the propeller shaft assembly from the rear axle differential carrier and then pull out the differential carrier. Now, remove the first two bolts from the rear axle carrier near the frame's front end and next take out the forward-most rear bolts. Lift the rear axle carrier down from the car with a suitable gadget. After everything else, take out the camber strut bolt, trailing link bolt, lateral link bolt, inner track bar bolt, stabilizer bar link and the lower control arm from the rear axle carrier.
