To work on the rear center console, first open the cover around where the shift lever is located. After that, take the parking brake lever handle off and unscrew the center console from the rear center console. Open the lid on the interaction stowage compartment and observe that the carpet covers about 2 in. on a Velcro base. Raise the carpeting on the back wall of the stowage compartment and take out each nut. Lift the rear center console up evenly as you move it toward the front, undoing its connection from the arresting hook between the front and rear center sections. Pull the parking brake handle through the slit in the retractable cover and then remove all electric connectors and the lock line for the center console from beneath the seats. In the end, get rid of the rear center console inside the vehicle.
