Service the fuel level sensor by first taking the negative battery cable off and draining the fuel tank. You should then remove the cargo area trim panels and the fuel tank partition by disconnecting the retaining bolts. Unplug the connector for the fuel level sensor. A shop towel should be placed under the fuel level sensor to stop any excess fuel from spilling during disassembly. Holding Special Tool 9240, turn the fuel level sensor counterclockwise and then pull it off the fuel tank.
