  A: Part one of fixing and repairing the fuel level sensor is to remove the ground wire from the battery and drain the fuel tank. After that, remove the trim panels in the cargo area and the bolts holding the fuel tank partition in place to get to the fuel tank partition. Disconnect the fuel level sending unit/sensor harness connector (1) and, as you work, place a shop towel surrounding the fuel level sending unit/sensor to prevent any extra fuel from falling out as you take it apart. Turn the fuel level sending unit/sensor (2) on the tank with Special Tool 9240 and then remove the unit/sensor (2) from the fuel tank (4).
