2008 Chrysler Pacifica Catalytic Converter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Catalytic Converter on a 3.8L Engine on 2008 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Because the catalytic converter on a 3.8L engine operates at a high temperature, be sure the exhaust system has cooled completely before servicing it. First, remove the cable from the negative battery and lift and support the vehicle. After disconnecting the downstream oxygen sensor's electrical connector, take out the flange bolts at the exhaust manifold and throw away the gasket. Untighten the band clamp, disconnect the catalytic converter from the muffler and then take the catalytic converter out of the vehicle. After that, get rid of the downstream oxygen sensor from the catalytic converter. Carefully clean the ends of the catalytic converter and muffler and be certain to use original equipment or suitable equivalent parts to replace any insulators, clamps, supports or faulty parts used for mating the components.
