2008 Chrysler Town & Country Sway Bar Kit Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove a Sway Bar Kit on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: When removing the front sway bar kit, you should first lift the vehicle. After that, remove the three supporting nuts on each side and take off the assembly of tire and wheel. At both ends of the sway bar, use a wrench on the machined flats to keep the lower stud from moving and take out the nut joining the link and the sway bar. At both ends, use a wrench to loosen and take out the nut joining the outer tie rod to the knuckle, with the stationary stud held by hand. Remove each of the outer tie rod ends from the knuckle with Special Tool 9360. After that, take out the front thru-bolt from the engine mount and then remove the fore-aft crossmember front mounting bolt and all four rear bolts. First, undo the crossmember at the middle and then get rid of the screws and push-pins holding the heat shield above the right steering gear, before you take off the shield. Remove the engine mount at the back and take out the clamp holding the pressure hose routing on the same side. After that, remove the screws holding the sway bar bushing retainers on the crossmember and get rid of both retainers. Push the cushions out through the slit using your fingers, swing the sway bar and remove it by again pushing it through the driver's wheel opening.
