How to Maintain the Thermostat in a 4.0L Engine on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

Right before working on the engine coolant thermostat, disconnect the negative battery cable. After that, drain out the coolant from the system. Remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing after that. With the thermostat housing bolts removed, take out the housing, thermostat and attached gasket. Don't unscrew the pressure cap until the system is completely cool to stay safe from possible burns.
