How to Maintain and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

To repair the trunk or liftgate shock support, first, support the liftgate in the open position. Then, disengage the retainer securing the support cylinder to the pivots on the liftgate and D-pillar, disconnecting the cylinder from both. Remove the pivots if necessary.
