How to Properly Install a Side Curtain Air Bag on 2008 Dodge Avenger?

Place the side curtain air bag (5) into the vehicle so that it is not twisted while you are installing it. Put the air bag (5) on top of the studs along the roof line and attach it with seven nuts (1 and 4), making sure to tighten them down to 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). After that, put the front and rear tethers into their holding slots and hook up the squib connector (2) to the rear of the inflator (1). After an air bag on the driver's side or passenger's side is deployed, you need to replace the headliner. Leave the headliner in place for now and be sure not to connect the negative terminal of the battery until testing is done, because failure to follow this may result in serious or fatal harm.
