How Should an Air Bag Be Properly Installed in a Seat on Dodge Avenger?

Air bag installation to the nylon pouch that is sewn to the front seat back trim cover should occur before installing either the air bag or the trim cover over the front seat back frame, because this will adversely affect how the seat air bag system functions. Gently place the seat air bag in the nylon pouch on the right side of the front seat back cover and push the two air bag studs into the holes in the pouch, making certain not to harm the pouch or the cover. Put the seat air bag and trim cover together near the outside edge of the seat back and stick the studs through the holes in the frame. Attach and tighten the two side nuts that hold the seat air bag to the frame to an ideal torque of 8 Nm (70.8 in. lbs.). Before clamping the seat wires with the inflator, make sure the connector on the seat air bag wiring is fully locked into the air bag inflator connector. Be certain that every part of the trim is reinstalled on the front seat back frame or the seat air bag system will not work properly. Apply the trim trim to the front and back sides of the seat back and slide the front seat back into the car.
