2008 Dodge Avenger Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove a Rear Steering Knuckle on 2008 Dodge Avenger?
A: To take out the rear steering knuckle, first lift and support the car. Separately, remove the wheel mounting nuts and the entire tire and wheel unit following that. Get rid of the bolt that fastens the brake tube routing bracket to the knuckle. When the rear disc brakes are present, first remove the two bolts that connect the disc brake caliper adapter to the brake support plate and then detach the assembly from the support, putting it out of your way with a wire or bungee tightly. After that, remove the rotor or drum and the hub and bearing. First, loosen the three bolts holding the knuckle to the trailing link, then undo the nut and bolt keeping the toe link attached to the knuckle. After that, remove the nuts and bolts that hold the lower control arm to the knuckle and the upper control arm to the knuckle. Take the knuckle out after you've deboned the fish.
