2008 Dodge Caliber Shift Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Shift Cable on 2008 Dodge Caliber?
A: Start by taking out the shifter, then go to the engine side and remove the hood, resonator, engine cover and air cleaner assembly. Your first step should be to abstain from both battery cables and then remove the battery hold down clamp and bolt to remove the battery. After that, unlatch the battery tray and remove cables from the shift levers at the transaxle. Make sure to use the exact same force when lifting both sides of the shifter cable isolator bushings so they are not damaged. Squeeze the clips holding the cables and remove them from the bracket. Take out the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and then uninstall the shifter. Now, squeeze the cable clips one more time to lift the cables and remove the entire assembly from under your car.
