2009 Dodge Caliber Shift Cable Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Service a Shift Cable on 2009 Dodge Caliber?
A: Before taking out the gearshift control cable, first, remove the shifter. After that, lift the hood and remove the resonator, engine cover and air cleaner assembly. Disconnect the two battery cables, unfasten and remove the hold down clamp and bolt and take the battery out. After that, take out the battery tray. Play the shifter cable isolator bushings apart with the same level of pressure to ensure you don't ruin them. With the clips squeezed, slide the cables out from underneath the bracket. Take out the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) and re-remove the shifter. After that, clip the cable retaining clips again and remove the cables from the bracket, then take out the cable assembly from inside or outside of the vehicle.
