How to Properly Service and Repair an A/C Hose in an HVAC System on 2008 Dodge Charger?

Be sure to set the refrigerant oil level correctly so the A/C suction line doesn't harm the compressor. Use the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to determine how much oil to add when you replace several parts. Any time you open a refrigerant line, always remember to replace the O-ring and gasket to prevents leaks. This line is serviced in two sections and the rear part is connected with the rear end of the liquid line as one assembly. For the front section, run the A/C suction line from the engine compartment to where the tube fits, undo any tape or plugs on the fittings, oil a new dual plane seal with clean refrigerant oil and join it to the suction line fitting. Link both halves together and tighten a nut in the middle to 22 Nm. Get rid of the tape or plugs at the front section and at the A/C compressor inlet, grease the dual plane seal and next, fit it in place before connecting the suction line to the compressor. Secure it with a nut tightened to 23 Nm. Fixed the air cleaner housing in its place, reconnect the negative battery cable, remove all refrigerant using a vacuum, adjust the refrigerant oil amount to its proper level and charge the system. For the back of the system, take out the blocks, put the A/C pressure transducer on the A/C liquid line, position the rear of the lines and connect them as one assembly, remove the tape or plugs from the fittings, grease and install new dual plane seals and connect everything to the A/C expansion valve. Screw a nut onto the tapping block, tighten to 23 Nm, mount the A/C refrigerant bracket bolt to 11 Nm, connect the wire harness to the A/C pressure transducer and repeat the lubrication and connection on the front and back liquid lines. Once the installation is complete, fit the housing for the air cleaner, plug the negative battery cable back in, get rid of the refrigerant, calibrate the refrigerant oil and fill the refrigerant system.
