2008 Dodge Charger Spoiler Parts and Q&A
Q: Is This How You Properly Service and Repair an SRT8 Spoiler on 2008 Dodge Charger?
A: For service or repair of the SRT8 spoiler, prime the parts of the spoiler surface you will apply the tape to using 3M™ adhesion promoter (Part No. 06396) before you start applying the tape. For two pieces, cut 3M™ transparent acrylic plus 3M p/n 06384 attachment tape, at a length of 1330mm (52.4 in.). Take off the backing paper for one end of the attachment tape, put it on the top of your spoiler where the "hider lip" begins and make sure there's no air under the tape. Follow the same procedure to make the bottom of the spoiler. Apply pressure from your hands or with a rubber roller to attach the tape to the car spoiler. Keep application temperatures above 60°F (16°C); if you have to use colder temperatures, use a heat gun to warm the vehicle's metal to reach between 60°F and 110°F (16°C and 43°C). Make sure the vehicle is dry, avoid touching the part of the tape where it will stick, apply fresh tape over an existing spot or old tape, don't leave the tape exposed for long and use an adhesion promoter on the paint job. Remove a bit of the backing paper from each attachment tape on the driver's side of the spoiler. While keeping the opposite support far from the car, set the end of the spoiler 5mm (3/16 in.) from the deck lid's edge, below the corner radius. Apply the tape at the top of the deck lid, starting on the driver's side and moving slowly to the passenger side as you remove the paper from the rest of the tape. Make sure you press firmly along all of the spoiler, on the deck lid, for great bonding and check the edges too, applying more pressure if they do not seem well-attached.
