2008 Dodge Dakota Clutch Fork Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Clutch Fork on 2008 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first thing to do when Servicing the Clutch Release Fork is to raise and secure the vehicle. Remove the nuts holding the slave cylinder (2), then take the slave cylinder out of the transmission, without unplugging the quick disconnect, because that could damage the hydraulic line and you'd need a new linkage. After that, loosen the clip that holds the clutch cylinder push rod (1) to the clutch pedal (2) and pull the rod off the pin on the clutch pedal (2). Disconnect the clutch pedal position switch from the harness (3) and take off the hydraulic fluid line (4) clip from the lower dash panel flange. After that, undo the clutch reservoir (1) nuts, but do so only after the clutch cylinder (2) nuts have been removed and the clutch reservoir (1) cap is tight. At last, remove the clutch reservoir and cylinder from the dash panel and remove the hydraulic linkage as one unit from the vehicle.
