2008 Dodge Durango Axle Shaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an Axle Shaft on 2008 Dodge Durango?
A: The first thing to do is lift the vehicle by its frame on a hoist and put it into neutral before handling the axle shaft. Then, set aside the brake caliper adapter plus the caliper and rotor. After that, get the wheel speed sensors and the cover for the differential housing off, draining the lubricant as you do so. When finished draining, takeout the pinion mate shaft lock screw and remove the pinion mate shaft from the differential case. The axle shaft C-lock is released by pushing the axle shaft inward, after which the shaft can be removed.
