2007 Dodge Durango Axle Shaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install an axle shaft on 2007 Dodge Durango?
A: Before installing the axle shaft, put gear grease inside the bearing and coat the seal area. After that, put the shaft through the seal and connect it to the side gear onto the splines. Pull the P-lock ring back to remove the axle shaft and after that, place the C-lock into the end of the axle shaft. Next, push the axle shaft toward the wheel to seat the C-lock inside the side gear. Once the bedplate is done, match the hole in the mate shaft to the one in the differential case as you firmly insert the mate shaft into the case and the pinion gears. Screw in the lock screw with Loctite through the threads and tighten it until you reach 25 Nm (220 in. lbs.). After that, connect the differential cover to the housing and let the gear lubricant fill it, before fitting the brake rotor, caliper adapter, caliper and wheel sensors.
