2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Exhaust Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Exhaust Manifold for Right on 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: For the removal and replacement of the exhaust manifold, first fix the exhaust manifold (5) to the cylinder head and use bolts to join it to the center runner (cylinder #3), initially fastening them to 2.8 Nm (25 in. lbs.). When installing a new gasket, set the crossover pipe (1) in place on the exhaust manifold, tighten the bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) and look for heat- or corrosion-related damage, as all OEM bolts should be used due to the specific alloy in the crossover bolts. Now, put in the final manifold attaching bolts and tighten them down to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Next, add the heat shield (2,4) and connect it with the attached screws and also install and attach the upstream oxygen sensor. Lift the car, then thread the catalytic converter pipe (4) onto the exhaust manifold using a new gasket and tighten the bolts to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.). Attach the oxygen sensor to its connector, set up the splash shield where the belt passes and drop the car. After that, add the wiper module and tie the battery's negative standby cable to it.
