How to Remove and Service a Front Door Latch Assembly on 2008 Dodge Magnum?

The first part of taking off the front door latch is to remove the trim panel from the inside, then take out the speaker and the watershield as well. After that, take out the screw that holds the bottom of the pull cup bracket and the window regulator rear rail to the door and follow by loosening the screw in the top of the bracket. Take out the upper pull cup bracket by unscrewing the bracket from the keyed hole in the receiver. Remove the plastic clip securing the interior door latch lock link to the latch lever by reaching into the back of the door shell, then pull the link out and remove the whole unit. After that, pull the fitted plastic clip from the interior and exterior door latch release links that are connected to the latch lever. Click the plastic tab that holds the lock cylinder lock actuator link to disconnect its link on the driver side front door. Unscrew the three screws that hold the latch to the outside part of the door's lock. Take out all links, unscrew the latch and then it becomes easy to disconnect the wiring connector. Pull the latch out of the door shell by reaching through the back opening and disconnecting the wire harness connector from the front door latch connector in the door shell.
