How to Service and Repair a Right Door Latch Assembly on 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500?

To get to the rear door latch on the right door, you have to take out both the lower and upper door trims (6 and 8). Next, disconnect the inside door handle (7) and paint a guide line on the upper door latch (1) with a grease pencil for when it's time to reinstall. Pull out the upper door latch (1) and after that, lift the release lever (10) off the lock cylinder (11). Release the bolts (2) attaching the door latch (3) and detach the cables (13) inside the door handle from the other end. Unscrew the door latch (3) clockwise at the same time as pulling the cable assembly (13) and locking rod towards the center of the door. Unhook the cable (12) from the outer door handle, unplug the electrical connector (7) from the latch and then take out the whole latch assembly (3). Once more, mark the position of the upper door latch (2) with a grease pencil, remove the bolts (1) and then take out the latch (2). At last, unplug the cable (3) from the upper door latch (2).
