First, let's take off the lower door trim (6), upper door trim (8) and the inside door handle (7). Using a grease pencil, mark the spot for the upper door latch (1) while it's removed. Then, lift the top door latch (1), move the release lever (10) away from the lock cylinder (11) and lose the bolts (2) fastening the door latch (3). After that, unscrew the cables from inside the door handle, then, when you turn the door latch clockwise toward the door's center, pull it along with the cables and locking rod. Unplug the cable from the outer door handle and take out the electrical connector from the latch assembly (3) before you remove the whole latch assembly (3) from the door. To disconnect the upper door latch, again note where it is with a grease pencil, remove the bolts (1) and also pull the cable (3) away from the latch (2).
