How is the Alternator Installed on 2008 Jeep Compass?

Moving the A/c compressor to one side is the first stage of installing the alternator. Turn the generator and line it up, with (1) in front of (2). Install the lower mounting bolt for now, but don't make it completely tight; then, loosely set the upper mounting bolt. Tighten both the lower and upper bolts on both vehicles to Gas 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) and Diesel 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.). After that, fit in the B+ terminal nut, secure it with Gas & Diesel 10 Nm (88.5 in. lbs.) and link the field circuit to the generator. Place the idler pulley, tighten the bolt and then put the accessory drive belt on. Then, fit the splash shield and lower air dam, put the car back on the ground and hook the negative battery cable up.
