How to Remove and Service a Cigarette Lighter from the Instrument Panel on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To service the auxiliary cigarette lighter, disconnect the battery negative cable. Remove the lighter knob and element and check the base of the receptacle for retaining bosses. Use snap ring pliers to pull off the bosses and extract the receptacle base. Disconnect the wire harness and remove the lighter mount.
