In order to fit the accessory drive belt on a 3.7L engine, loosen the negative battery cable. Turn the tensioner of the belt until you reach the stop position and remove the belt. Next, gently while ensuring that there is no sudden movement, adjust the tensioner to the free arm position which again will not harm the tensioner.
