How to Detach the Muffler from a 3.7L or 4.7L Engine on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To remove the muffler, first lift the vehicle, hold the side rails and let the axle swing loose. A few tablespoons of heat valve lubricant on the bolts and nuts will help with their removal after 5 minutes. Put a jackstand under the rear axle and take out the RH rear shock absorber alongside the RH side of the stabilizer bar. Second, remove the exhaust pipe connecting pipe/catalytic converter in the front and detach the ground strap as well. Afterwards, take off the tailpipe/muffler installation from the isolators and remove the assembly from its position on the vehicle.
