2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: Which Oil Filter is Best for All Engines and How to Remove It on 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: The engine on your vehicle comes with a reliable, one-time-use Mopar(R) oil filter, but Chrysler Corporation says that a Mopar(R) oil filter or its equivalent is best. Before removing the oil filter, put a drain pan under it and use a suitable filter wrench to loosen the filter. Turn the oil filter one season to the left to free it from the cylinder block oil filter boss. After the filter separates, tilt the end with the gasket towards the sky, so any oil stays where it is and then take out the filter. When removing the filter, take out the filter gasket as well, clean the surface of the seal and wipe it with a cloth to remove any residue.
