How to Maintain and Repair a Belt Tensioner for a 3.8L Engine on 2008 Jeep Wrangler?

Start the drive belt tensioner service by first loosening the accessory drive belt. After that, unbolt the mounting bolt for the accessory drive belt tensioner (1) and carefully take out the accessory drive belt tensioner (2) from the engine's front cover. As spring tension is very high, the automatic tensioner is not intended to be taken apart, since it should be serviced as a whole.
