How to Service an EGR Tube on a 2.7L Engine on 2009 Chrysler 300?

You should first find the EGR components such as the upper tube, the EGR valve and the lower tube, before servicing the engine's EGR upper tube. Completely disconnect the negative battery cable before you remove the purge solenoid from its bracket and move it to a new place. After that, open up the electrical connector connected to the EGR valve and unbolt the part held in place by two nuts over the upper tube. Relieve the pressure on the manifold to make sure none of your silicone seals fall out as you take the upper tube out. Whenever the EGR tube is removed, both the EGR tube gasket and silicone rubber seals must be replaced. After you have removed the gasket, be sure to clean the EGR valve surfaces because any left over dirt might let air flow without control, causing a rocky idle and less vacuum in the manifold. Don't forget to wash the surface on which the mount will be attached.
