How to Service and Repair an EGR Tube on Chrysler 300?

Before working on or repairing the EGR tube, turn off the negative battery cable. Pull the purge solenoid out of its mounting place and move it to the other end of the setup. Pull off and separate the connector from the EGR valve, then undo the bolts holding the lower tube to both the exhaust manifold and to the EGR valve. Make sure to remove the lower tube and clean the gasket areas of the EGR valve, since unattended dirt can leak out and cause the engine to run roughly or drop vacuum. Before putting the lower tube back, clean the surface that you will be mounting the tube to. Fasten the three bolts holding the lower tube to the EGR valve and the bolts to the exhaust manifold. Screw the lower tube to the EGR valve bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) and the lower tube to the exhaust manifold bolts to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). Securely attach the electrical connector to the EGR valve, lift the purge solenoid into its proper position, secure it to the bracket and then link the negative battery cable.
