2009 Chrysler 300 Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Ensure Proper Function and Avoid Driveability Issues When Replacing an Oxygen Sensor on 2009 Chrysler 300?
A: For an O2 Sensor replacement, the PCM RAM should be cleared either by cutting the RC-1 connector or briefly removing the Battery negative terminal, as the NGC learns from each heater in the O2 Sensor. Under no circumstances put grease or make electrical repairs by soldering on the oxygen sensor's electrical connector. There are two heated oxygen sensors in every exhaust manifold, provided by the engine. When the sensor is removed, clean the threads in the exhaust manifold with an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap. To use the original sensor, grease the sensor threads with anti-seize material, like Loctite 771-64; new sensors already have coating and should not be rubbed with more. Screw in the sensor to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), join the heated oxygen sensor's plug, let the vehicle rest and attach the negative battery cable.
