On one bank in each direction, install all connecting rods with non-interchangeable bearing caps to be assembled correctly. Care should be taken not to damage surfaces and plastigage should be used to measure clearance. Change overstretched bolts, lubricate threads and tighten nuts. Measure the side clearance by using a dial indicator, and repeat with each rod as the crankshaft is turned.
