How to Safely Detach a Hood Latch on 2009 Dodge Charger?

To remove the hood latch, disconnect the battery negative cable, and then unsnap and remove both underhood appearance covers. Mark the latch position, unscrew it from the crossmember and unhook the release cable housing and the ball end. Last, take the hood latch off of the car.
