2009 Dodge Dakota Door Hinge Parts and Q&A
Q: How to install a rear door hinge on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: For proper door alignment, replace the standard door studs (1) with studs without shoulders and tighten each to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Apply suitable body sealant when you are handling or moving the hinges and if you want to, paint the replacement hinge before installing it. Place the door hinge (1 or 4) on the b-pillar over the previously made spots, bolt it using (3) and tighten these fasteners to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Tighten the inner bolt (2) to 28 Nm or 21 ft. lbs. If the epoxy bonded washers come off the hinge pins, check if the door requires adjustment and if it doesn't, simply put back the washers when replacing the hinch pins. First, loosely install the nuts and bolts to secure the door, align the door using the reference marks and tighten all the nuts and bolts to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) in their sequence. If required, change the door and next, attach the lower b-pillar trim (4).
