2009 Dodge Dakota Harmonic Balancer Parts and Q&A
Q: How Is the Harmonic Balancer Installed on the Crankshaft on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: To prevent harm to the harmonic balancer, crankshaft and installer 8512A, make sure the harmonic balancer bore and crankshaft nose are clean before installing the harmonic balancer. Attach the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft then use the harmonic balancer installer from A/C hub installer 6871 with pressing cup 8512A. Coat each of the harmonic balancer installer 8512A's threads with Mopar(R) Nickel Anti-Seize or any replacement product. Set the pressing cup on the harmonic balancer installer 8512A and slide the harmonic balancer onto the crankshaft. After that, install and tighten the harmonic balancer bolt until it reaches 175 Nm (130 ft. lbs.). After that, set the rear fan onto the bracket and put the rear accessory drive belt in place. Likewise, the last cable you attach will be the negative one to the battery.
