How to Install the Alternator on a 3.7L/4.7L Engine on 2009 Dodge Durango?

Slot the generator onto the engine and keep it in place by using two horizontal bolts and one vertical bolt. Tighten the two arms that cross the vehicle to 55 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) and the one at the front to 55 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) as well. Attach the electrical field wire connector to the rear of the generator and insert the B+ terminal eyelet onto the output stud, tighten the mounting nut to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Don't try to push the belt over a pulley edge with a screwdriver to avoid harming the synthetic fiber. Keep the serpentine accessory drive belt following its appropriate path to avoid the water pump from rotating the wrong way and causing your engine to overheat. Attach the generator drive belt correctly and with that done, hook up the negative battery cable.
