When installing the alternator for the 3.7L or 4.7L engine, set the generator next to the engine and hold it in place with 2 horizontal and 1 vertical bolt, securing all 3 to 40 ft. lbs. Then, put the end of the field wire into its connector on the back of the generator and link the B+ terminal eyelet to the stud on the generator's output terminal. After that, tighten the mounting nut on the output stud by 108 in. lbs. You should never use a screwdriver to push a belt over a pulley rim, because it may harm the synthetic fiber. Guide the serpentine accessory
Drive Belt appropriately so the
Water Pump does not run backward and cause the engine to overheat. After completing everything else, put the generator drive belt in place and reattach the negative battery cable to the battery. For a 5.7L engine, mount the generator close to the engine, screw in the 2 bolts to the motor and tighten them to 30 ft. lbs. Instal the support bracket in front of the generator with a bolt, screwing on the nuts and tightening to 30 ft. lbs. Attach the field wire connector to the rear of the generator, fasten the B+ terminal eyelet to the generator stud, tighten the mounting nut to 108 in. lbs. and cover the precautions before installing the belt, and reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery.
